By connecting a composite video signal (ntsc/pal) to VIDEO_IN and monitoring its output on VIDEO_OUT you can apply processing to the signal with the 4x PROCESSING KNOBS (when PROCESS_MODE switch is set to left – otherwise these are bypassed)
This module also acts as a GLITCH STABLIZER (also known as Time Based Corrector / TBC) ensuring the output signal is correct and stable (not dropping out on digital displays) regardless of how distorted the incoming signal is.
The SYNC_MODE switch allows you to choose between:
- CENTRE – sync is locked to external signal, ensuring the image is always centred on output. This is the default setting, however it can result in dropout downstream if external sync is out of spec
- SCROLL – an internal sync is used, resulting in no dropouts even with out of spec incoming signal – image may scroll in these cases but output is always stable – useful for heavy glitching
