during the second run of this course we discovered that different vga formats used either positive or negative hsync depending on the resolution. the original version of this circuit incorrectly assumed the incoming sync would always be negative which meant the interface only works with those formats.
this updated version has a small switch allowing you to choose which kind of hsync to pass into the blanking stage.
